PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY & LIFE:  "Theologically, I am very conservative.  I believe in the necessity of conversion through personal faith in Jesus Christ.  I believe in the absolute inspiration of the Bible, God's Holy Word.  I believe in believer's baptism (although I am theologically at peace with infant baptism).  I believe in the pre-incarnate existence of Christ, the virgin birth, the Holy Trinity, the bodily resurrection of Christ, and His imminent return.  I believe in the pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ.  I believe in leading in both word and deed.  I want to lead a congregational boldly into authentic worship, evangelism, and service to the world.  I want to model Christian love, unity, and service in what I say and how I live my life authentically.  I want to be both a wounded healer and a servant leader.  I want to lead with both passion and humility."

  • SDSU B.S. in Mechanical Design Engineering in 1970
  • B.A. in Bible from Linda Vista Bible College in 1973
  • Master of Divinity, North Park Seminary in 1978
  • Ordained with the Evangelical Covenant Church in 1979
