AN EASTER MESSAGE

 

Easter is my favorite day of the year.  It seems to be the holiday that is relatively free from secularization.  It’s the message of the day that keeps my fire and passion going all year long.  Phillip Brooks, the late, great preacher, stated the message clearly in a book An Easter Carol:

 

“Tomb, thou shalt not hold Him longer; Death is strong, but life is stronger; Stronger than the dark, the light; Stronger than the wrong, the right:  Faith and Hope triumphant say Christ will rise on Easter Day!”

 

Easter is the greatest event that ever took place in history; over a billion people will celebrate it this season.  Research shows that more unchurched people are likely to come to church on Easter than any other time of the year.  Even more surprising is a poll that George Gallup did a few years back.  It said that 84% of the people who never go to church, believe that Jesus rose from the dead.  Because of this reality, I want to call upon each of you to MAKE EASTER MEMORABLE by investing your life in the lives of people outside the church and inviting them to come with you to Easter service.  Here’s how we will help to make Easter memorable:

 

  • We will provide great music, a relevant message, and the testimony of how Christ is in the life-changing business.

 

  • We will welcome and bless your friends without embarrassing them.

 

  • We will provide living, caring programs for their children.

 

  • We will provide you with business-sized cards that say. “Make Easter Memorable,” with the worship times on them so you can pass them out to your friends.

 

What’s your part?

 

  • Pray for God’s Spirit to lead you to individuals and families that you can invest in.

 

  • Pass out the cards “Make Easter Memorable”.

 

  • Follow up and invite them to go with you to church.

 

  • Pray that these friends might experience a personal relationship with the Risen Savior.

 

Can you imagine a more memorable Easter that people you love hearing about the matchless love of Jesus our Risen Lord?  I humbly invite you to join me in making this the most memorable Easter ever.
