Our “superstar” spotlight for January is Christina (Chris) Smith.  Originally from Oregon, Chris, grew up the only girl in a house full of boys.  She met her husband Chad while snowboarding in Flagstaff.  Their son Jacob is 5 and has a ton of energy.  Jacob became a big brother when little Brody was born on December 1st, 2007.  The Smith family feels complete now with their new little blessing.

Chris has been attending Hope Covenant since she accepted the HopeKIDS Assistant Director position in October 2007.  Prior to Hope Covenant, Chris attended Cornerstone Christian Church for about 6 years and was involved with teaching in Children’s Ministry.

In her position as HopeKIDS Assistant Director, Chris will assist with recruiting and training of volunteers, and in building relationships with parents.  When asked why she enjoys serving in HopeKIDS, Chris responded, “I love having fun with the kids and watching them shape their relationship with God.”

Chris enjoys bike rides, snowboarding, playing with her boys and going for hikes in Sedona.  Some other interesting things about Chris that you probably didn’t know:  She loves Tepanyaki food, her favorite movie is “The Office,” and she enjoys decorating and finding new projects to work on around the house.  One thing Chris would love to do someday is to tour Europe.

Welcome aboard, Chris and family, to Hope Covenant Church!
