Momentum Moments

On Sunday, Feb. 8, as Pastor Duane preached on the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), we handed out sealed envelopes with $5, $10, $20 and $50 bills in them. The goal is to return those amounts by March 1 with a return on the investment...to help toward reducing the debt on the church building.
How much did you have in your envelope? How do you plan to invest it?
Share your stories here, and how much you returned on your investment!

My wife and I received $50 in our envelope. I had recently been handed a software package that I didn't need. I had already asked a few people around the church office if anyone else could use it, but everyone said "no". Rather than just sending it to Goodwill, I invested a little over $10 into a post on eBay, and ended up selling it for $177.50! Yeay, God!!

Jim and I each received $20. We pooled our money together and bought groceries to make a spaghetti dinner (spaghetti & sauce, bread, salad, iced tea, and dessert). We invited 5 couples (making a total of 12 people including ourselves) and charged each person $10 for dinner and fellowship at our house. It was so much fun and we will return $130 back to the church!
