Last Sunday, after our wonderful Connect Sunday, four of us piled into my van and headed north through Flagstaff, towards Page and arrived at our destination in Marble Canyon, Lees Ferry, one of the best trout fishing spots on the Colorado River.  After fishing all day Monday (yes, we all caught some beautiful trout), I settled into a chair facing the marbled hills, and spent time with the Creator until dark.  The beauty was breathtaking, the sound of birds and nothingness all around, I found myself rejoicing (yes, I have been reading Philippians too!) in the presence of God.  I praised God for my life, for my beautiful wife, my children and grandchildren, fly fishing on the Colorado, and for you... Hope Covenant Church.  You and God have given me a second chance at ministry, and I am forever grateful.

"I thank God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership, in the Gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
-Philippians 1:3-6

God's creation is indescribably beautiful, and so are you, Hope Covenant Church.  May God continue to shower us with His grace and may we express our joy in the majesty of His creation.

"O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! ...When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him...?  You make him ruler over the works of your hands...the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.  O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
-Psalm 8 (selected verses)
