I am excited to announce that a few days ago we rolled out a new section to our website to help you read the Bible in 2010!
This area includes a page that updates itself daily to provide you with the readings, including links to listen to it online. You can also catch up on previous days' readings, as the most recent two weeks' worth of readings will be there for your listening pleasure. :) You can find it at hopeispossible.org under the GROW tab, entitled "One-Year Bible". A quicker way to get to the page that is even easier to remember is hopeispossible.org/1YB.
But we didn't just stop there. On the right-hand side of the page under the GROW icon are a list of several other resources we are providing. One of the most useful aspects of this area are the free weekly study guides and small group materials that are on our site now! These are well done and include the week's reading schedule checklist, one-paragraph summaries of the week's readings, things to look for and questions to ponder as you read, and ideas for journaling based on the texts. There is also a section of small group questions on each sheet! These sheets can be downloaded by clicking the link entitled "Weekly devotional & GROW Group guides". On this page you can download one each week or download them all at once onto your computer.
Other links there on the right-hand side of the page include links to:
- download the year's reading plan that we have been handing out at church as a PDF;
- get the audio podcast onto your iPod device, so that the audio of each day's readings will be on your iPod for whenever you want to hear them;
- an iPhone app, for those who prefer it as a separate program on the iPhone;
- a weekly email that will be sent to your inbox, reminding you of your readings and providing some other useful information.
Even if you are already behind on reading the Bible for the year, don't let that stop you from getting started. What's to keep you from starting with today's reading, and finishing a few days into January next year rather than December 31? Come on, you can do it! And come year's end, you will be so glad you did. This could be the greatest single decision you make to grow in spiritual maturity, and it only takes a few minutes a day.
Godspeed,
