Youth making a difference for Christ

Sinchak-Myers-TovarI am constantly reminded that God can use each one of us for His glory, regardless of age or whether we have a college degree.  God cares more about our relationship with Him and the condition of our heart than anything else.  Do you love God?  Do you love His people?  Saying yes to both questions will move you to serve.

That's what three of our youth leaders for HopeKIDS have done.  They have said yes, God I love you and want to serve others.  Throughout the school year Kyle Myers, Johnathan Sinchak and Christa Tovar have regularly volunteered their time to serve in HopeKIDS.  From the Nursery through Promiseland they have made a huge impact in the lives of our kids at Hope.  Let me share some special things about each person.

Kyle Myers, 15, currently attends Mountain Pointe High School and loves football.  His favorite colors are blue and orange.  Can you believe this.... He loves fish and sushi.  When asked why he enjoys serving in HopeKIDS Kyle said, "I like to help because I really like kids."  Kyle wants to be a teacher or a pediatrician when he gets older.  Just for fun, I asked Kyle to share a silly or an embarrassing moment in his life.   He laughed and said, "It was when I got bit in my bottom by a goose."  Must have been a large goose!

Johnathan Sinchak, 15, currently attends Powell Junior High School and loves football too.  His favorite color is green and he loves to eat hot wings.  Yum!  When asked why he enjoys volunteering in HopeKIDS Johnathan responded, "I like to help because it's so amazing to see how much the kids grow."  Johnathan wants to be a NFL football player or a veterinarian when he gets older.  An embarrassing moment in his life was when he jumped into the pool and turned around, and hit his chin on the pool side.  Ouch, that must have hurt!

Christa Tovar, 16, currently attends Corona del Sol High School and loves to dance.  Her favorite color is pink and she loves to eat Taco Bell.  When asked why she enjoys serving in HopeKIDS Christa stated, "I like to help because kids are just so amazing."  Christa wants to be a make-up artist or a teacher when she gets older.  One of her embarrassing moments was when she was at school and it was raining, she slipped and fell into a puddle.  Yes, I can see how that would be embarrassing.

These youth leaders have made a difference in the lives of many kids at Hope.  Thank you, Kyle, Johnathan and Christa for loving our kids and sharing your time with them.

If God is tugging at your heart today to help serve in HopeKIDS, I encourage you to email Christina or myself.  We would love to get at least 12 people, committed to serving 2 hours each month from June through August.  This is a great opportunity for new volunteers to experience the joy in serving children.  Reaching our kids for Christ at a young age will impact the future as they grow older.  Please pray about becoming a part of the HopeKIDS Team!!
