What is CONNECT, GROW and SERVE?

At Hope we're constantly asking people to consider what it would take for them to take one step closer to Christ. "Connect, grow and serve" is an outgrowth of that; it is the three simple steps we focus on in order to grow holisticly in our relationships with God and each other!

What does CONNECT look like?

We're passionate about sharing our faith with others. But how do we do that without seeming preachy or holier than thou?

Simply put, we aren't a church of churchy people; we're a church of ordinary, broken people, who are discovering what it means to constantly take one step closer to Christ.  Sharing our faith with others isn't meant to make others feel pressured or uncomfortable, but rather to help them see through our own personal experiences the power of God to transform our lives, and the lives of anyone else who is willing to give God a chance to show Himself.

At Hope, we call this "Invest & Invite". What that simply means is that each of us at Hope should invest our lives into the lives of our neighbors, family members, coworkers and others we see on a regular basis. Build friendships and give our time, love, energy, compassion and resources. Then, when the time is right, invite them to church or to one of our special events to help them experience God at a deeper level.

Ways for people to CONNECT at Hope

  • Bringing friends to special events sponsored by Hope throughout the year for the community, including the Christmas Boutique, Cool in the Pool, and The Ultimate Chocolate Affaire.
  • Inviting people to a Sunday worship service, or to one of our special services during the Christmas or Easter seasons.  If a smaller environment is more comfortable, inviting friends to your GROW Group might be another option.
  • Attending Newcomer’s Pizza, an informal, free lunch held every four to six weeks. It helps newcomers get to know each other, meet the pastoral staff and learn more about Hope's vision and ministries.
  • Signing up for ALL IN, a six-week class on Sunday mornings that delves deeper into the basics of the faith and what Hope offers to help people connect, grow and serve. This class fulfills membership requirements at Hope.


Our challenge to you

We want everyone who considers Hope their church home to challenge themselves by making a commitment to three simple things:

  • CONNECT:  by making “invest and invite” a priority and building intentional relationships with those in your circle of contacts who are outside of the church.
  • GROW:  by being a part of a GROW Group as part of your commitment to long-term spiritual growth.
  • SERVE:  by being a part of at least one area of service at Hope where you can give back to your church family and/or community.
