CONNECT Sunday
We know how daunting it can be to connect with people when you're the new guy. Making friends can be even more difficult given the relative newness of the Valley and the transient nature of its residents.
That's why we created a monthly CONNECT Sunday.
We encourage everyone to wear a name tag that day, just so it's not so awkward to say "hi" to a stranger. We also hand out VIP tickets to anyone who's relatively new for a free lunch after second service.
The lunch starts around 12:15 p.m. and is open to everyone, not just newcomers.
After lunch, Pastor Duane takes VIP ticket holders on a walking tour of the church campus, where he shows them some behind-the-scenes stuff and introduces key staff and volunteers. The 10-minute tour ends with a free dessert in the conference room and a Q&A session with the pastoral staff.
