Journey Through the Bible: The Prophets
Sunday, Aug 22, 2010, 5:30pm

The prophets of the Hebrew Bible are some of the most fascinating figures of the ancient world. Admired by many (and despised by some), they fascinate us by the way they both lament the present (Jeremiah) and predict the future (Ezekiel). They puzzle us by the way they both condemn the foreigner (Jonah) and plead for the foreigner (Isaiah). They intrigue us by the way they both fight against injustice (Elijah) and stick their noses into international politics (Elisha). They empower us by the way they both condemn sin (Hosea) and direct sinners toward salvation (Zechariah).
Join us on the evening of Aug. 22 as we welcome Dr. Mike Moore to Hope and you learn how the 2,500-year-old books of the Hebrew Prophets can speak into your life today! Dr. Moore has a brilliant way of teaching these ancient writings with a modern-day twist, constantly weaving in humor, Hollywood films and other elements of today's culture to make history come alive.
Dinner will start at 5:30pm, with Dr. Moore to follow.
