Mentoring

Titus 2:3-6 encourage believers to nurture each other's faith. We all need someone in our lives outside of family who can encourage us in our relationships with God.

While GROW Groups are the primary ministry that we invest in at Hope to help people take steps closer to Christ in their spiritual growth, we also facilitate one on one mentoring relationships.

What does a mentoring relationships look like?

It's totally up to the mentor and mentee.  Mentees will share what is going on in his/her life and where he/she needs to grow spiritually, with the intention that he/she will be held accountable and challenged in healthy ways.  Many choose a Bible study to do together. This study could be a book of the Bible or some other Christian discipleship materials.

I'd like to be mentored.  What do it do?

Simply notify a pastor of your interest in a mentor.  Describe what you think you might be looking for, and how you hope to be challenged and encouraged.  The staff will look for someone in the church who might be a good match and then introduce the two of you.

I'd like to be a mentor. What do I do?

Let a pastor know of your interest in being a mentor and whom you might be best suited to mentor.  As long as you fit the criteria, we will keep your name on a list of available mentors and contact you when we have someone in mind for you.
