“So the Lord said to Solomon, ‘Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees...I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you...’”   (1 Kings 11:11)

“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self...to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true              righteousness and holiness.”    (Ephesians 4:22-24)

THE ATTITUDE

Reasons:

            1.  He was the favorite son.                            37:3

            2.  He was well-built and handsome.            39:6

            3.  He was intelligent.

Results:

            1.  He was a tattle tale.                                  37:1,2

            2.  He got a special coat.                                37:3,4

            3.  He had a dream.                                         37:5-8

            4.  He had another dream.                             37:9-11

Repercussions: 

            1.  Jealousy                                                        37:1-4

            2.  Hatred                                                           37:3,5

            3.  Resentment                                                 37:8


THE ADJUSTMENT

Sold into slavery.                                                         37:17-27

Slandered by Potiphar’s wife.                                   39:6-18

Sentenced by Potiphar.                                              39:19-20

Slighted by the cupbearer.                                         40:23
