Hope is proud to be a host site in the East Valley for Angel Food Ministries, a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing quality foods and grocery relief to communities throughout the United States.  Anyone can participate to save money on groceries — there are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere!

Is this quality food, or just old stuff?

The food is all the same high quality one could purchase at a grocery store.  There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.  Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items.

How much do the food boxes cost?

The Signature Box of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week, or a single senior citizen for almost a month for $30.  Comparing local retail grocery stores, we have found that the same food items, even with generic brand labels, are usually double the cost.  Also available are the Senior/Convenience Box, the Allergen Free Box, the Fruit & Veggie Box, and several assorted Meat & Grill Boxes.

Is there a limit to how many boxes our family can order?

No!  There is no limit to the number of regular boxes or monthly specials an individual can order.  With each food box ordered, however, please remember when you pick up your food to bring a box or laundry basket to carry each food box ordered.

How do I get started?

Purchases are made through the Angel Food Ministries website, where you can pay by debit or credit card.  Cash, money orders, cash donations, and SNAP/EBT orders are placed by visiting the church office.  Credit or debit purchases incur a $2.00 convenience charge.  See our Facebook page and look for Angel Food for available coupons.  We are unable to accept personal checks.

Volunteers needed

One Saturday morning each month, all ordered items are sorted for distribution at Hope's campus, and grocery boxes can be picked up from 9:15-11:00am.  We need volunteers each month to help with this effort!  Volunteers can help:

  • Pick up early that morning and bring back to Hope the boxes of food from the Angel Food distribution center;
  • Prepare the distribution line in the Hope lobby for when families arrive;
  • Greet families, help them get their grocery box items and tell them a little about Hope!

Volunteers can be adults or youth.  Individuals, families, or even small groups can participate!

We certainly can use you, to help us represent Hope well to our community on these Saturdays!  To volunteer, CLICK HERE.
